A former teammate of Husky forward, Michael Olson, at Nanaimo of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League. An offensive defenseman, he finished the 2005-06 season with 4-34-38. Was fourth on the team in assists with 32 points in 2004-05 despite only playing in 41 games. In 2003-04 Gaudet put up 34 points in 58 regular season games and was selected a BCHL second team All-Star and was named to the league All-Rookie team. Along with Olson, their Tisdale Trojans Midget team won the Air Canada Cup - the national midget title in 2001-02. An assistant captain of the Clippers, he's garnered lots of special teams play on the PK and PP and can QB the power play and play either side of the point. He has good on-ice vision, makes good passes and can play through checks. An excellent skater, he is solid and mobile. He'll need to work on his strength, but should compete for icetime as a first-year player.

Another forward from Nanaimo of the BCHL, Gale joins Michael Olson, Aaron Brocklehurst and Craig Gaudet as the fourth recruit in two years from the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL. He finished 2nd in team goal scoring in 2005-06 and 5th in total scoring. In 2004-05 he had 41 points in 53 games (19G, 22A). He played 11 games for the Clippers in 2003-04 and put up 4 goals and 2 assists. A smart and crafty player, he makes good touch passes and posesses good speed and mobility. He'll need to work on his strength in the offseason but has the offensive skills to push hard for playing time with the Huskies in 2005-06.

This California native has been burning up the Central Junior Hockey League in Ontario. As a member of the "Timex" line Lasch finished as the league leader in scoring with 56-68-79-146. He turned down an opportunity to play in the USHL to return to his CJHL team in 2005-06. An explosive player Lasch had 64 points in 49 games for the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the CJHL in 2004-05. In 2003-04 as a rookie, he had 13 goals and 17 assists for 30 points in 55 games for the 'Kings. In California, he was an in-line player as well as ice hockey player and competed for the California Junior Ice Dogs, a youth program that has produced WCHA star players Robbie Earl of Wisconsin and Brett Sterling of Colorado College. A natural scorer, he's a high tempo player who is a threat to score any time he is on the ice. Diminutive in size, he has become a league blue-chipper who has a tendency to score in bunches. If he can acclimate himself to the physical play of the WCHA, Lasch may be a real steal for the Huskies who are starving for natural scoring talent in the lineup. Lasch has all the makings of a subperb college player.

This native of Vienna, Austria has been getting substantal press in the US after a blistering start to the 2005-06 season, an MVP performance in the USHL All-Star game and 56-28-29-57 numbers through the regular season for Sioux Falls. He finished sixth in league scoring and led his team to the Anderson Cup. Nodl has been compared by some to fellow countryman Thomas Vanek for his size, offensive skills and ability to break open a game. He also finished the regular season with 11 power play goals. He's had substantial international experience playing a key role on Team Austria in the US World Championships in 2005 and prior to that with the Austrian U18 team. He loves to play on the larger ice surface which will certainly play to his advantage on the Olympic sized rink at SCSU. He posesses a quick shot, excellent size, speed and puck skills and is a threat to score on every shift. Nodl beefed himself up by 13 pounds prior to the 2005-06 season and it not only has helped his puck posession but also his defensive play. This player could make a serious impact for the Huskies and in the WCHA in 2006-07.

A recruited walk-on, Peckskamp becomes the fourth St. Cloud area player in the past three recruiting classes to join the Huskies. A former teammate of Nate Raduns, Peckskamp also has connections on his current team, the Indianapolis Ice of the USHL. Indianapolis players, Garrett Roe and Jon Ammerman will also be teammates at SCSU. His former coach at Indy, Fred Knipscheer is a former SCSU star player. Currently a captain for the Ice, his former coach, Dean Grillo stated " Pecksy is the 'heart and soul' guy on the team. From being a star player in high school to being a top USHL forward, he has earned his spot through hard work and discipline." In 2004-05 he put up 29 points ( 16 g, 13 a ) in 59 games including a league leading 4 shorthanded goals. As a prep player, Peckskamp was one of the top offensive players in the state in class A. As a junior he scored 36 goals - the fourth best numbers in MSHL class A. Excellent speed and a workhorse mentality will make him a fan favorite. He joins Nate Raduns, Matt Hartman and John Swanson as local players on the Huskies roster in 2006-07.

The Huskies have added a skilled defenseman in Ammerman. He was part of the very successful Moorhead (MN) High School program that made three straight trips to the Minnesota State High School Tournament. His team lost in the championship of the 2005 game vs Holy Angels High School while being named to the all-tournament team. He bgan the season with Tri-City of the USHL prior to being traded to the Indiana Ice. At Tri-City he was experimented at forward but returned to his defensive role at Indy. A disappointing season statistically for Ammerman, he has 3-5-8 in 57 USHL games. In 04-05 he had 10 goals and 30 assists in 30 games for Moorhead High School. He was a member of the 2002 National U-16 team that won the gold medal in Slovakia. This player is sound in his defensive zone, has the ability to jump into the play and carry the puck up ice and has a good shot. He'll become a trivia answer as the last player recruited by outgoing coach Craig Dahl and first recruit for incoming coach Bob Motzko. He'll have some work ahead of him but given time should work into a regular rotation with the Huskies.

The Huskies picked up a seasoned veteran of the United States Hockey League in Garrett Raboin. Raboin played the past three seasons for the Lincoln Stars and was captain of the squad in 2005-06. A solid two-way player, Raboin should step right into the Huskies lineup in 2006-07. This past season he had 7 goals and 22 assists for 29 points in 59 games. A physical player, he also amassed 122 minutes in penalties in 2005-06. He logged 58 games in 2004-05 and 59 games in 2003-04 and accumulated 26 points over the two seasons. He was a three-year letter winner for Detroit Lakes High School and was fourth on the all time list for games played and third for most points. In 2002-03 he had 37 points and finished 10th in scoring in section 8. His father Bruce, played college hockey for Providence College and was an eighth round pick of the Washington Capitals of the NHL. Raboin is a heady, seasoned player and will impress fans with his polished play in 2006-07.

SCSU has recruited a goaltender with solid top-end potential in this native of St. Albert, Alberta. Weslosky was selected by the New York Islanders as the 108th pick in the fourth round of the 2006 NHL entry draft. He was the 13th goaltender selected overall. He joined the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League as their third goaltender out AA Midgets but captured the starting position playing in 58 games and compiling a 2.33 GAA. As a result, he was named Co-MVP of the team and Rookie of the Year. In 2004-05 he put up strong numbers for his AA Midget team, the St. Albert Blues with .927 SV% and 2.19 GAA. Islanders Coach Sudarshan Maharaj commented " He is a very quick and agile goaltender - he is in the same mold as Marc- Andre Fleury, and should develop into a promising No. 1 netminder". Barring injuries Weslosky should spend most of his time in 2006-07 as a backup to Bobby Goepfert but should see some spot duty as he is groomed for the future.
