The Center Ice Club (CIC) is the official hockey booster organization for the St. Cloud State University Huskies and is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation. It was originally organized in 1986 as a booster club by a group of local hockey enthusiasts in anticipation of St. Cloud State University hockey transitioning to NCAA Division I status. From the beginning, the mission of the CIC was to "provide moral and financial support for SCSU hockey and a social atmosphere for it's members." That continues to be the purpose of the CIC and we are a proud supporter of both St. Cloud State University men's and women's hockey programs. The Center Ice Club has become the largest focused booster organization for St. Cloud State University athletics.
The Center Ice Club raises funds to support both SCSU men's and women's hockey. Since 1986, the CIC has donated in excess of $260,000 to SCSU hockey by providing an annual hockey scholarship, miscellaneous team equipment, National Hockey Center displays and projects, beginning of the season event and post-season banquets. The CIC raises funds primarily through memberships, annual golf tournaments, 50/50 raffles, and various other fundraisers.
Center Ice Club membership is our largest fundraiser and is a great way for SCSU hockey fans to contribute to our hockey program. With over 700 members, the CIC has become one of the largest collegiate hockey booster clubs in the country. Benefits to our members include an informative newsletter, social events, NHC hospitality room admittance, CIC custom clothing and merchandise, and away game trip planning and travel packages.
The Center Ice Club holds an annual business meeting at which time officers and board members are elected. Officers include a president, treasurer, and secretary. Members can serve on various committees such as golf tournament, membership, merchandise, newsletter, fundraising, and special events. Volunteers are vital to the organization and all CIC members are invited and encouraged to become involved.
